Once again, HBO has managed to come up with a brilliant mini series…Generation Kill, also my latest obsession-Alexander Skarsgard. Ahhhhhhhh.

……although the concept never left, they are few and far between. Not anymore though….two weeks ago, Sam Buffa opened SFC Barber in the West Village of New York. Just your old fashioned trim or shave, and the aroma of pine or more traditional masculine scents. Service are straight forward at the no-appointment shop and prices are reasonable, but barbers have salon training and can perform any kind of cut.  F.S.C.       not fun. Tropical Storm Fay hits House of Lavande….no worries, no flying jewelry in the air, just a lot of rain, wind and lost power. Luckily my house has a generator so I can blog to tell about it.

Based in Palm Beach she has traveled the world over combing flea markets from Paris to London, amassing a stunning collection of costume jewelry.

Tracy approaches her search for jewelry with the same historical rigor as collectors of vintage fashion. The expertly curated collection, which has been featured in Town & Country, Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar, contains over 5,000 pieces by such important designers Elsa Schiaparelli, Kenneth Jay Lane, Juliana, Miriam Haskell, Yves Saint Laurent, Chanel, and Christian Dior. Without question, Tracy has established a premiere name in vintage collectible costume jewelry.

Flying up to New York for the day to get my hair cut and colored at Rita Hazan. I see Adrian Wallace and Juan Carlos.

Vintage jewelry of course……and my Tom Ford sunglasses

Here’s a new one: London has launched the first ecological “social” club….Jade Jagger was first to enter yesterday in London the new it “place” called Surya. We love this!

Wow. Sometimes Haute Couture is a little………much. Not here. Elie Saab gave an amazingly beautiful, wearable, dreamy collection this week in Paris. Love it.

First timer to the Paris Couture and new Valentino designer, Alessandra Facchinetti made quite the first impression this week in Paris. Her show was romantic and soft, yet true to Mr. Valentino’s aesthetic we all loved so much. We are sure he would have approved.

Sandra Ballentine of the New York Times blog called, The Moment, put up a great piece today on Lavande. We are beyond excited!
